Independent. Sovereign. Engineer-first. We charge for compute, not for reading your own data back. We run our own ASN, open our own regions, and answer our own pages. The other cloud companies will explain why this is impossible. We're going to keep doing it anyway.
Arveon started in a converted machine room on Salomonkatu in May 2022. Three of us — Aino, Joonas, and Mikko — had spent the previous decade running infrastructure for Finnish telcos and Nordic SaaS companies. We were tired of explaining egress fees to engineers and watching them architect around bills instead of around problems.
We bought a single rack at the Pitäjänmäki facility, leased a /22 from a friendly RIPE LIR, and announced it ourselves. The first commercial customer signed up in July 2022, paid €18, and is still on the platform today. Hi, Pavel.
Three and a half years later we're 47 people across 6 countries, running 14 regions, with €18M raised and a path to profitability that doesn't require us to spam engineers' inboxes with "let's hop on a call." We are still in Helsinki. We are still in Pitäjänmäki.
Decisions get made closest to the code. Our docs are written by the engineer who shipped the feature. Customer support is staffed by SREs, not a tier system. If a sales person promises something we won't ship, the sales person is wrong.
Every line item on an Arveon invoice is one a customer can explain in a sentence. No "compute hours, classes, families, rates, region multipliers." Per-second metering, posted prices, automatic sustained-use discounts. If finance has to call us to understand the bill, we've failed.
Our regions are physical buildings we have keys to, networks we configure, ASNs we own. We don't resell another cloud and call ourselves European. When something goes wrong, we are not waiting for a vendor escalation.
Postmortems within 14 days of every customer-affecting incident. Real numbers on the status page, not green checkmarks. SLA credits applied automatically. We trust customers to handle the truth, because we'd want the same.
+ 39 more across Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin, Lisbon, and Tallinn. careers@arveon.space if you'd like to make it 48.
Closed February 2024 with participation from Inovia Capital and OpenOcean. Capital is committed to expanding the EU region footprint, opening sa-gru-1, and scaling our network team. Read the announcement →
